Meet Our Team
Ricardo A. Alburez
Founder & CIO
Ricardo A. Alburez has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate and has closed over $3.5B in commercial RE transactions.
Mr. Alburez has worked for premier companies, such as Tishman Speyer Properties, Jones Lang LaSalle, and BlackRock.
Before founding MP Real Estate Capital in 2018, Mr. Alburez was the Chief Credit Officer of UC Funding, a Boston-based private lender. As CCO, Mr. Alburez oversaw the creation of the underwriting team, the implementation of a direct lending credit strategy, and the deployment of over $1.5B of bridge loan transactions.
Education
Mr. Alburez graduated from Boston University as a Boston Scholar in 1996 with a BS in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance.
The Dream
Mr. Alburez immigrated as a child to the United States in 1981 and is realizing the American Dream through hard work, education and a little bit of luck. Currently, Mr. Alburez resides in Harlem, NY with his wife and three daughters.
Jeremy Ross
Chief Credit Officer
Jeremy Ross is a seasoned commercial real estate executive with over 15 years of transactional experience and has closed $2.5B in commercial RE transactions.
As Chief Credit Officer of MPRE, Mr. Ross is responsible for overseeing and directing the underwriting, structuring, and closing of the company’s investments. He specializes in complex real estate transactions across all major asset classes with extensive experience in transitional bridge loans, ground-up construction, and federally subsidized adaptive redevelopments.
Before joining MPRE in the fall of 2019, he served as Chief Credit Officer of UC Funds for three years, leading the credit team to deploy nearly $1B of transitional CRE bridge loans and preferred equity investments. Mr. Ross oversaw all aspects of transaction underwriting and structuring, including leading the due diligence process, securing investment committee approval, negotiating terms with counterparties, and overseeing the legal and closing process.
Education
Mr. Ross graduated from Lehigh University in 2005 with a BS in Business & Economics and a concentration in Real Estate Finance. Mr. Ross began his career at Potomac Realty Capital, UC Funds' predecessor, as an underwriting analyst. During his tenure at UC Funds, Mr. Ross became VP of Underwriting before being promoted to Chief Credit Officer.
Work Life Balance
Mr. Ross grew up in Upstate New York and has always had a passion for Real Estate and problem solving. Currently, Mr. Ross resides in New Jersey with his wife and two children and works equally as hard at keeping up with the demands of a young family.
